“Heart of a Songbird” is the first of a “Living Hearts” series where I created images of whimsical anatomical hearts using all of the techniques in my creativity bag from CGI, to digital painting, and photographic compositing.

This heart was sculpted and painted in CGI. The wallpaper was custom-created digitally. The bird is a digital overpainting of a reference photo taken of a taxidermied bird in a science museum. The ribbon is a composited photograph taken in-studio.
